Alpha Lithium Reports First Operational Results in Hombre Muerto Salar, Argentina – Investing News Network

— Company Reports Vertical Electrical Sounding ("VES") Results on its Santo Tomas Property in Hombre Muerto Salar

— Company Progresses Additional VES Campaign on its Gran Victoria Property in Hombre Muerto Salar
Alpha Lithium Corporation (TSX.V: ALLI) (OTC: APHLF) (Germany WKN: A3CUW1) (" Alpha " or the " Company ") is very pleased to announce that it has completed a Vertical Electrical Sounding ("VES") campaign across a portion of its Salar del Hombre Muerto project in Argentina's Lithium Triangle ( see June 28, 2022 news release ). The Company controls over 5,000 hectares in the prolific Hombre Muerto salar and the results of this VES campaign indicate the presence of significant subsurface brine bodies on the Company's Santo Tomas property.
Alpha's Santo Tomas property is surrounded by POSCO's multi-billion-dollar Hombre Muerto development and is located less than 5 km from POSCO's pilot plant in the same salar.
Exploration and drilling activity by surrounding competitors indicate Alpha's property should contain a prolific lithium brine aquifer. Two nearby wells, both drilled within 300 meters of Santo Tomas' boundaries, produced at highly significant flow rates with at least one of the wells returning lithium concentrations better than 750 mg/L, which is typical in the Salar del Hombre Muerto.
The results of the VES evaluation indicate the presence of three large units, all of which are expected to be productive:
The Company's regional geological-geophysical model suggests that the thickness of the modern fill facies (sands, silts, clays, evaporites and halite) of the Salar del Hombre Muerto vary from about 40 meters in the eastern sector (outcropping of the Catal Formation), to more than 500 meters deep in the western zone (outcrops of the Sijes Formation).
Brad Nichol, President, and CEO of Alpha, stated, "As we continue progressing in the neighboring Tolillar Salar closer towards our objective of commercial production, Hombre Muerto is quickly becoming the next growth engine for our company. In Hombre Muerto, we are surrounded by intense exploration and exploitation of lithium enriched brines by multinational corporate giants. Through those exploits, and the unmatched 25-year production history, Hombre Muerto is well understood to be one of the most desirable lithium brine locations in the world. The results of this VES survey indicate significant similarities to the surrounding world-class assets of our immediate neighbors."
With $44 million in cash, Alpha is sufficiently funded to continue pursuing its exploration and production ambitions in Argentina for the long-term. Accordingly, the Company intends to commence drilling operations in Hombre Muerto as soon as possible.
Nichol continued, "Our operations in Hombre Muerto do not start and stop with the Santo Tomas property. We have already commenced a VES campaign on our Gran Victoria property in Hombre Muerto and expect to acquire approximately 40 shot points there. We look forward to releasing the results of that survey as soon as we have them."
Alpha's team is one of the most experienced in the Salar del Hombre Muerto. As recently announced ( see July 19, 2022 news release ), the Company has engaged Mario Portillo, a global lithium expert worked on the design of Livent Corporation's 25-year producing lithium carbonate and lithium chloride plants, in addition to guiding Galaxy Resources (now Allkem Limited) in the Salar del Hombre Muerto. Additionally, Alpha's Country Manager, David Guerrero has spent most of his lithium career in Hombre Muerto, having held a leadership position in Galaxy Resources. After leading development and exploration activities, David was an essential player in the 2018 sale of Galaxy's Hombre Muerto assets to POSCO. Finally, Doctor Rodolfo Garcia leads Alpha's subsurface technical team and has spent decades studying, understanding, researching, exploring, exploiting and teaching global audiences about the Salar del Hombre Muerto. Doctor Garcia's work is known and respected worldwide and he is one of several experienced leaders within the Alpha Lithium team.

The international community is in the midst of a battery revolution. Shares of electric vehicle maker Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) surged over 740 percent in 2020, then an additional 56 percent gain in 2021, making it one of the most valuable companies in the world. This dramatic increase in demand showcases the promising growth narrative of the electric vehicle boom.
The revolution for electric powered cars is not only being led by Tesla, but many other car companies including Nio (NYSE:NIO), with a year-over-year increase of 26 percent. Volkswagen (OTC Pink:VWAGY), General Motors (NYSE:GM), Nissan (OTC Pink:NSANY), Hyundai (OTC Pink:HYMTF) and Bayerische Motoren Werke, known as BMW (OTC Pink:BMWYY) are also investing heavily into the boom.
With the rising movement towards a sustainable and electric-powered world, the lithium that will be needed to support this rapid transition lends it the potential to become one of the most valuable resources in the world.
The famous Triángulo del Litio — the Lithium Triangle — is an under-explored area that is becoming a major host for investor-friendly projects prepared to embrace the potential of a lithium-powered future.
Alpha Lithium (TSXV:ALLI,OTC Pink:APHLF) is one of many pursuing lithium in this region, given its potential to be one of the last greenfield project opportunities in this section of the world.
Alpha Lithium is a development company that is focused on highly prospective lithium production of its Tolillar Salar project in Salta province, Argentina.
The company has been able to leverage its 100-percent ownership and work towards repeating the successes of its highly established lithium producing neighbor. There is promising potential for Alpha Lithium to thrive as the company is surrounded by notable players.
Alpha Lithium’s flagship Tolillar Solar project is located in Northwest Argentina near the heart of the Lithium Triangle. Its highly accessible infrastructure connects the project site to Salta and San Antonio de Los Cobres by paved road networks, natural gas resources and a skilled local workforce.
In two geophysical surveying campaigns, the company discovered structural trends that mimicked the Salar del Hombre Muerto horizon. This basin hosts one of the longest operating lithium brine producers in the world with over 25 years of active extraction.
“We consider the geological similarities between the Tolillar Salar, and other nearby salars like Hombre Muerto, to be very encouraging,” said Brad Nichol, president and CEO of Alpha Lithium.
Additionally, the project’s discovery and exploration plans are especially exciting for Alpha Lithium (TSXV:ALLI,OTC Pink:APHLF) due to the high-producing mining companies situated near Tolillar Salar.
Alpha Lithium presents a unique entry opportunity for investors as an emerging player in the lithium production space.
Global demand for lithium is expected to rise from an estimated 47,300 tonnes in 2020 to 117,400 tonnes in 2024, according to a GlobalData report.
Vinneth Bajaj, a senior mining analyst for GlobalData, said lithium demand will be driven by a surge in EV sales, with annual production expected to go from 3.4 million vehicles in 2020 to 12.7 million in 2024.
Alpha Lithium received promising VES geophysical survey results at its Tolillar lithium project and is preparing permit applications for exploration.
These achievements put Alpha Lithium on track for project expansion and execution of the company’s well-engineered six-phase approach for developing its major emerging lithium assets.

The Tolillar Salar property covers 27,500 hectares and consists of 10 exploration concessions registered in the Salar de Tolillar basin in Argentina’s Salta province. With limited exploration history, and a strategic location nearby several lithium producing heavyweights, the Tolillar Salar project puts Alpha Lithium in a unique first-mover position for significant mining success.
The Tolillar Salar occupies an internally drained basin with much of the property’s rock formation dating back to the Ordovician period. This geological makeup has created a sediment profile that includes younger continental sediments, salt crusts and evaporite deposits.
This property is in close proximity to the Hombre de Muerto Salar, a premier lithium brine basin. The company recently acquired 3,800 hectares in this area, expected to yield high-grade lithium discoveries with low impurities.
Early stage investigations have already revealed lithium concentrations up to 504 mg/l in a sampling campaign from 2015. With drilling licenses approved, Alpha Lithium is ready to commence an advanced drill program.
The company has conducted two substantial geophysics surveying programs and accomplished development goals under budget and ahead of schedule. This trend in lithium exploration shows promise for the future of the project.
Alpha Lithium is located less than 10 miles away from Livent, which has a market cap of over US$3 billion and over 20 years of production from the nearby property. The company is strategically located approximately six miles from Livent's high-quality, low-impurity Fenix Project.
Immediately adjacent to Livent is South Korean company Posco (NYSE:PKX), with a staggering market cap of around US$20 billion. Posco has been very busy in the area, expanding on their lithium project that they bought from Australian lithium miner Galaxy Resources, now Alkem (ASX:AKE), for US$280 million in 2018.
The Tolillar project area has never been extensively explored, yet is located in prime territory, directly near a concentration of major lithium producers, providing a significant portion of the international lithium supply.
The world’s going to need more lithium mines due to the unprecedented lithium-ion battery demand required to fuel electric vehicles and energy-hungry devices. With a project located in the coveted Lithium Triangle in South America, Alpha Lithium could be sitting on a potentially massive lithium discovery.
The management team at Alpha Lithium comprises industry professionals and experienced stakeholders with years of expertise in mining, exploration and capital markets. This well-connected team uses a proven de-risk approach, priming the company for significant growth on the global lithium market.

Alpha Lithium Corporation (TSXV: ALLI) (OTC Pink: APHLF) has secured a US$30 million investment from Uranium One Group.
Uranium One Group, (www.uranium1.com) one of an international group of companies, all wholly owned subsidiaries of the Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation, better known as Rosatom, manages one of the world's largest uranium mining holdings with a diversified portfolio of assets.
For more information, please view the InvestmentPitch Media "video" which provides additional information about this news and the company. If this link is not enabled, please visit www.InvestmentPitch.com and enter "Alpha Lithium" in the search box.

It is developing projects in Kazakhstan, Tanzania, Namibia and in South America. Rosatom recently assembled a team of lithium industry experts within Uranium One to focus on constructing one of the world's largest lithium portfolios and to become a very significant provider of battery grade lithium to key international manufacturers.
Alpha Lithium has formed a wholly owned subsidiary, Alpha One Lithium B.V., which will be the sole owner of Alpha Lithium's Tolillar lithium deposit in Argentina. The 27,500-hectare deposit is located in the Argentine province of Salta, neighboring multi-billion-dollar lithium players in the heart of the renowned "Lithium Triangle", a region rich with hydromineral raw materials with a high concentration of lithium.
Uranium One's wholly owned subsidiary Uranium One Holding N.V. has agreed to invest US$30 million in exchange for a 15% ownership of Alpha One Lithium, with Alpha Lithium holding the balance of 85% and retaining full control of Tolillar, management, and the board and will be responsible for deploying the invested capital. The transaction is limited only to Tolillar and when closed, is expected to leave Alpha Lithium with approximately $45 million in cash, free to focus expansion and development efforts on its nearby Salar del Hombre Muerto, where the company continues to expand its 5,000+ hectare foothold in one of the world's highest quality and longest producing lithium salars.
Following the completion of a bankable Feasibility Study on the project, Uranium One Holding N.V. will have the option to invest an additional US$185 million to acquire another 35% of Tolillar, thereby increasing its ownership to 50%. Should Uranium One exercise its Earn-in Right, the US$185 million will be directed toward the construction of an initial 10,000 tonne per annum LCE commercial production facility. This initial production facility is intended to be the first module of several, allowing production to be expanded if and when it is desired.
If Uranium One were to issue a large capital call associated with a plant expansion in which Alpha Lithium may choose not to participate in, Alpha has an option to sell its equity stake in Alpha One, receiving fair market value plus a premium of 25% for its position as well as having a right of first offer to solicit higher offers.
Brad Nichol, Alpha's President and CEO, stated: "This early-stage asset has attained a truly game-changing breakthrough for our shareholders. This sort of milestone is rarely achieved by a company with less than two years of operations and with a valuation at this level. Exercising the Earn-in Right implies a value at Tolillar of US$529 million, not including any Additional Consideration. Including the maximum Additional Consideration, the implied project value would be US$604 million, which is over CDN$750 million for the Tolillar asset alone. Uranium One has the ability to earn a 50% interest in Tolillar and Alpha will retain a 50% working interest in a salar that is funded up to the point of commercial production. Having gotten to know Mr. Shutov and his team over the past few months, I am truly pleased to be partnering with Uranium One, an internationally recognized, large-scale project developer. I have no doubt they will match our hunger for fast and full development of the Tolillar Salar, in addition to offering large project execution experience and significant downstream contacts in Europe."
Andrey Shutov, President of Uranium One, added: "In alignment with our stated strategy of securing non-uranium mineral resources, Uranium One is very excited to work with the famous Alpha Lithium team to advance the Tolillar Project, located within the renowned Lithium Triangle, the world's most prolific lithium region. This partnership agreement represents a scaled approach to expanding Uranium One's lithium production, while allowing Uranium One and Alpha Lithium to collaborate on the development of Tolillar and implement efficient extraction technologies."

ACME Lithium Inc. (CSE: ACME) (OTCQB: ACLHF) (the "Company", or "ACME") is pleased to report positive sample results from the recently drilled DH-1 hole at its Clayton Valley lithium brine project located in Esmeralda County, Nevada. The Company's significant new lithium discovery has initiated Phase 2 planning and procurement of an expanded drilling and pump test program.
DH-1 was drilled to a total depth of 1400 feet (427) meters below ground surface and intersected multiple productive horizons including the targeted basal gravel aquifer at an approximate depth of 1,250 feet (381 meters) below ground surface (bgs).
Samples of brine were taken from DH-1 at various intervals and were sent to an independent lab and analyzed for lithium and other elements typical of lithium enriched brine systems. Target sampling zones and depths were based on the results of the geophysical surveys, interpretations of the drilled lithology, and field observations including fluid conductivity and salt precipitation on the exposed core.
The following provides a summary and preliminary assessment of the laboratory analytical results and lithium assays from DH-1:
Lithium Concentrations Across Test Intervals

Additional aquifers were intercepted above the basal gravel layer including the main ash layer which is believed to be one of the targeted production horizons of Albemarle's neighbouring Silver Peak lithium project.
A preliminary assessment of major contacts encountered in DH-1 as they may apply to those described in regional historical data is provided below:
Geologic and geophysical data including sample results will help identify specific horizons to be tested in a Phase 2 drill program which will include a separate, larger diameter test well (TW-1) for completion of brine aquifer permeability testing and sampling. Phase 2 will also include up to three (3) new exploration holes DH-1A, DH-2, and DH-3 with objectives to examine deeper horizons through zonal isolated testing, assess stratigraphy, and the potential for continuity between the stratigraphic units encountered in DH-1. The Phase 2 exploration holes will be completed with grouted in vibrating wire piezometers which will be used to monitor aquifer response during future pumping test. Phase 2 is expected to commence during the 4th quarter of 2022 subject to further permitting and availability of drilling equipment and services.
Based on prior Clayton Valley drilling experience intercepting a high-flow brine horizon marking the gravel/bedrock contact, ACME's team is particularly focussed on advancing drilling to test this highly prospective brine zone.
ACME's Clayton Valley, Nevada lithium brine project is contiguous to the northwest of Albermarle's Silver Peak lithium deposit which has been in production since 1966. Located in one of the best resource jurisdictions in the world, Clayton Valley is the only lithium producing region in the United States.
ACME is well funded by strategic investors and positioned to complete its exploration and development objectives thru the near term with the goal of providing a domestic supply of lithium to the US and Canadian markets.
Analytical Quality Assurance & Quality Control
All analytical data reported in this news release were generated by Western Environmental Testing Laboratory ("WETLAB") of Sparks, Nevada. WETLAB is accredited by the Nevada State Division of Environmental Protection for determination of lithium, magnesium and other elements in non-potable water by EPA method 200.7. Analytical results for investigative samples met laboratory quality assurance and quality control criteria.
ACME's project location adjacent to or nearby lithium brine projects does not guarantee exploration success or that mineral resources or reserves will be defined on ACME's properties. Exploration, development, and activities conducted by regional companies provide assistance and additional data for exploration work being completed by ACME.

(TheNewswire)
Coquitlam, BC TheNewswire – August 17, 2022 – Canada Silver Cobalt Works Inc. (TSXV:CCW) (OTC:CCWOF) (Frankfurt:4T9B) (the "Company" or "Canada Silver Cobalt") announces the appointment of Gerhard Kiessling, P.Geo., as Vice President Exploration, succeeding Matthew Halliday, P.Geo., who will continue as President and Chief Operating Officer.
Mr. Kiessling joined Canada Silver Cobalt in 2020 as an exploration geologist and was later promoted to Exploration Manager. Prior to that, he gained valuable geological exploration experience working for several companies across Canada including Agnico Eagle, Kirkland Lake Gold, First Cobalt, and McEwen Mining. He graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science (Honors), majoring in Earth Science. Growing up in northern Ontario, he was surrounded by mining for most of his life. He is a practising member of the Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (PGO).
"We welcome Gerhard to a more senior role at Canada Silver Cobalt. His extensive knowledge of the geology of northern Ontario is a major plus for us. In addition to his most recent work at Castle East, he has participated in several exploration projects in the area focused on a variety of metals and geological structures which will be important as we ramp up exploration at the Eby-Otto gold property near the high-grade Macassa Gold Mine just south of Kirkland Lake, Ontario and about 90 kilometers north of our Castle Mine property," said Matthew Halliday, P.Geo., President and COO.
About Canada Silver Cobalt Works Inc.
Canada Silver Cobalt Works Inc. recently discovered a major high-grade silver vein system at Castle East located 1.5 km from its 100%-owned, past-producing Castle Mine near Gowganda in the prolific and world-class silver-cobalt mining district of Northern Ontario. The Company has completed a 60,000m drill program aimed at expanding the size of the deposit with an update to the resource estimate underway.
In May 2020, based on a small initial drill program, the Company published the region's first 43-101 resource estimate that contained a total of 7.56 million ounces of silver in Inferred resources, comprising very high-grade silver (8,582 grams per tonne un-cut or 250.2 oz/ton) in 27,400 tonnes of material from two sections (1A and 1B) of the Castle East Robinson Zone, beginning at a vertical depth of approximately 400 meters. Note that mineral resources that are not mineral reserves do not have demonstrated economic viability. Please refer to Canada Silver Cobalt Works Press Release May 28, 2020, for the resource estimate. Report reference: Rachidi, M. 2020, NI 43-101 Technical Report Mineral Resource Estimate for Castle East, Robinson Zone, Ontario, Canada, with an effective date of May 28, 2020, and a signature date of July 13, 2020.
The Company also has: (1) 14 battery metals properties in Northern Quebec where it has recently completed an almost 15,000-metre drill program on the Graal property and an airborne VTEM geophysical survey is being conducted at it Lowney-Lac Edouard property; and (2) the prospective 1,000-hectare Eby-Otto gold property close to Agnico Eagle's high-grade Macassa Mine near Kirkland Lake, Ontario where it will be exploring in 2022.
Canada Silver Cobalt's flagship silver-cobalt Castle mine and 78 sq. km Castle Property feature strong exploration upside for silver, cobalt, nickel, gold, and copper. With underground access at the fully owned Castle Mine, an exceptional high-grade silver discovery at Castle East, a pilot plant to produce cobalt-rich gravity concentrates, a processing facility (TTL Laboratories) in the town of Cobalt, and a proprietary hydrometallurgical process known as Re-2Ox (for the creation of technical-grade cobalt sulphate as well as nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) formulations), Canada Silver Cobalt is strategically positioned to become a Canadian leader in the silver-cobalt space. Fortune Minerals Limited (TSX: FT) (OTCQB: FTMDF) (" Fortune " or the " Company ") ( www.fortuneminerals.com ) is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement in principle with the holders of its debentures issued in 2015 (the " 2015 Debentures ") to extend their maturity from August 12, 2022 to November 30, 2022. The extension of the maturity date of the 2015 Debentures remains subject to finalizing and executing definitive documentation between the Company and the holders of the 2015 Debentures (the " Extension Documents ").
The amended and restated debentures (the " Amended Debentures ") will have an aggregate principal amount of $12,363,518, being the total principal amount and all accrued interest on the 2015 Debentures as at August 12, 2022, and will bear interest at a rate of 10% per annum for the extension period between August 12, 2022 and November 30, 2022. The Amended Debentures will be secured by all of the assets of the Company (including the NICO cobalt-gold-bismuth-copper project (" NICO Project "). Other than the foregoing, the material terms and conditions of the Amended Debentures are expected to remain substantially consistent with the terms of the 2015 Debentures. As additional consideration for the extension of the maturity date, the Company has agreed to pay to the holders of the Amended Debentures an extension fee, which shall be satisfied by the issuance of 3,500,000 common shares of the Company at a deemed price of $0.10 per share upon execution of the Extension Documents. The issuance of the shares remains subject to final approval of the Toronto Stock Exchange and will be subject to a four-month hold period from the date of issuance.
Fortune is also pleased to report that the new Inflation Reduction Act, which the U.S. Senate recently passed, is expected to positively impact the North American critical minerals industry, particularly for the metals used in lithium-ion batteries powering electric vehicles. The Act revamps the electric vehicle Federal tax credit of US$7,500, extending the tax credit through 2032, removing the unit-sales cap of 200,000 per OEM, and introducing a mandate for qualified cars being assembled in North America to include escalating levels of critical minerals sourced from the U.S. or countries with a free-trade agreement with the U.S. Specifically, the bill requires that the "percentage of the value" of the applicable battery critical minerals be extracted or processed in the U.S. or a U.S. free-trade partner or recycled in North America, be:
The bill places similar restrictions on the percentage of value of the components but leading up to a 100% requirement for vehicles placed in service after 31 December 2028.
As previously announced, Fortune has engaged Haywood Securities Inc. (" Haywood ") to act as its financial advisor to support its near-term financing objectives (see news release, dated May 16, 2022). Haywood is assisting Fortune with seeking the funds needed to repay the Amended Debentures and complete the purchase of the planned NICO Project refinery site in Lamont County, Alberta. Haywood is also assisting Fortune in its efforts to finance the other activities required to advance development of the NICO Project towards a construction decision, including detailed engineering for an updated feasibility study to support project finance, completion of the remaining permits, and to secure additional capital for general corporate purposes.
The 100%-owned NICO Project is a Canadian, vertically integrated, critical minerals development project and one of the few cobalt assets in the world that can be developed in a timeframe needed to meet today's cathode chemistries for rechargeable batteries used in the transition to electric vehicles. The NICO Project Mineral Reserves also contain more than one million ounces of gold, 12% of global bismuth reserves, and copper as a minor by-product.
Fortune has filed its consolidated financial statements and management's discussion and analysis of financial condition and results of operations for the period ended June 30, 2022 on SEDAR ( www.sedar.com ) and will be available soon through the Company's website ( www.fortuneminerals.com ).

The Company also has: (1) 14 battery metals properties in Northern Quebec where it has recently completed a nearly 10,000-metre drill program on the Graal property and an airborne VTEM geophysical survey is being conducted at it Lowney-Lac Edouard property; and (2) the prospective 1,000-hectare Eby-Otto gold property close to Agnico Eagle's high-grade Macassa Mine near Kirkland Lake, Ontario where it will be exploring in 2022.
