The weather in Edinburgh on Friday looks to be a very mixed bag, with both bursts of sunshine and rain showers forecast at different points before an “unsettled weekend”
Edinburgh will see both sunny skies and rain showers on what is forecast to be a very mixed Friday.
According to forecaster the Met Office, there will be "sunny intervals" in the morning, before turning "cloudy" by midday.
After a relatively mild night in the capital, temperatures will rise gradually as the sun begins to come out at around 8am.

By 11am, temperatures will have hit their peak of 11 degrees Celsius, and will hold steady for the majority of the afternoon.
Following a bright and clear morning, clouds will begin to form over the city by around 10am, and by 11am there will be a sheet of grey skies that will cover Edinburgh for the remainder of the day.
At around 3pm, these grey skies will turn darker, but it is not until 7pm that rain is predicted to hit Edinburgh according to the Met Office.

There is only a 30% chance of precipitation at this point, though, meaning the showers will most likely be light.
An hour later, at 8pm, this rises to 50% and the Met Office expects that the showers will turn to "light rain".
By 9pm, this should have cleared up and it will likely be a mostly dry and cloudy night in the capital — with a burst of light rain forecast at around 3am.
Saturday looks to be much of the same, with intermittent rain showers and sunny spells and temperatures hovering around 10C.
According to the Met Office, it will remain "unsettled throughout the weekend".
