The last thing you would expect at a peaceful yoga session is energetic puppies running wild and free in a gym studio.
But Paws for Thought, who are partners with an ITV show, offer therapeutic yoga sessions accompanied by a litter of puppies. From Pomeranians to Alaskan Malamutes, guests will get to experience the mind and body practice and snuggle with the cute canines.
The animal-friendly yoga brand does three sessions a day on selective dates throughout the year where some sessions are in Leigh-on-Sea and Deptford, South-East London.

This puppy yoga has had a growing celeb-studded reputation since it started last year.
It has appeared and partnered with TOWIE, featured on KISS FM radio, and held brand collaboration events with brands like ASOS and Valentino.
Essex classes cost £32.50, compared to South-East London classes priced at £35, and demands in Essex have significantly increased in the past few months.
This is my first of many as it was the first time I have been to a yoga class in my life, let alone been to one with adorable dogs added to the mix.
I was not going to deceive myself and I knew full well I was going to play and cuddle with the puppies, but the question was which breed was it going to be?
I was greeted by the brand organiser and owner Olivia Hughes and the yoga instructor Steph Dias and told about the whole session.
Olivia revealed that all of the sessions, including the one I was in, would be joined by Pomeranians.
I nearly screamed out loud as I found them so adorable because they are so small and fluffy.
As soon as I entered the room, I saw six tiny puppies sprinting around the room, playing with the toys scattered around the studio and each other.
The Pomeranians were mostly white-furred with one fawn-coloured and they were so energetic, running wild and free to the amazement of the guests.
Everyone was spread out to form a wide circle with a focus view of Steph and to allow the puppies to roam around freely.
Olivia started by giving safety instructions on the puppies and what to do in certain scenarios to make sure the puppies are handled safely at all times.
Then, Steph began the session by starting with sitting poses and was very easy-going about people who wanted to interact with puppies than do the yoga itself.
The session was an hour long and Steph did easy moves to make people comfortable and accommodate to everyone’s skills.
Poses used were varied throughout the session, which included sitting and bridge-like stretches like the lotus position and the downward dog pose.
I struggled to do some of the poses that require flexibility but the puppies were coming to my section to keep me accompany and just watch everyone else.
The yoga bit ran for 45mins and then we had the chance to play and take pictures with the puppies for 15 mins.
For someone who has never been to a yoga session and struggled to do most of the poses, I loved every second of it.
I got distracted a lot by the puppies, not because they were a nuisance but because of how cute and adorable they were.
It was great that Steph did an engaging session, because of the way she incorporated the moves to attract the dogs to the participants, in case any of them felt they did not get some puppy love from the Pomeranians.
This was so therapeutic because of the interaction with them as well.
The attention that the Pomeranians gave made me feel appreciated with the way they snuggled up to me during different times of the session. I like that they were not restricted and entertained the whole room.
Doing this will definitely leave you with a huge smile on your face.
So considering the duration of the session, the number of puppies in the room and the freedom you have to interact with them, this is worth every single penny for me.
This is a great way to uplift your mood and socialise again after being in isolation for 16 months on and off.
I went on my own and never felt awkward because the love of dogs, and the way the puppies were eating my stuff, were great icebreakers to talk and laugh with other people.
This is something that I hope Paw for Thoughts makes permanent and full-time, with more dog breeds on their roster, because it's a therapeutic service that would be beneficial to a lot of people mentally.
