Labour Court to examine pay and conditions in construction sector – Irish Legal News

The Labour Court is set to examine pay and conditions in the construction sector, potentially paving the way for a new sectoral employment order (SEO).
Following a request from trade unions, the Labour Court said it will conduct an examination of “the terms and conditions relating to the remuneration and any sick pay scheme or pension scheme in respect of the construction sector”.
The outcome of the examination could be a recommendation for the making of a sectoral employment order under section 17 of the Industrial Relations (Amendment) Act 2015, providing for legally enforceable minimum terms and conditions of employment in the sector.
Written submissions to the examination will be accepted until Tuesday 27 July 2021, 5pm, sent either by post to The Secretary, The Labour Court, Lansdowne House, Lansdowne Road, Dublin 4, or by email to info@labourcourt.ie.
