Two teenagers are being treated in hospital tonight after they were attacked by a group of youths in East Wall in Dublin.
The two 16-year-old boys were in a chip shop on Church Road when they were set upon at around 8.30pm this evening.
Both sustained injuries from being beaten and kicked, with one having suffered what's described as a superficial stab wound to the chest.
The group of attackers subsequently fled on bicycles.
Both 16-year-olds were taken to the Mater Hospital and are being treated for non life-threatening injuries.
The scene has been preserved for a forensic examination.
Gardaí are trying to establish the circumstances surrounding the attack to see if the boys were known to and targeted by their assailants.
They are also trying to identify the weapon used in the attack.
One of the victims is from Ballyfermot, with the other from East Wall.
Gardaí at Store Street are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them.
