1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let a site remember your actions and preferences across pages and visits.
This policy also covers similar technologies that work the same way in practice: pixels and tracking tags, local storage, and session storage. Wherever we say “cookies” below, we mean all of them.
Cookies do not read files on your device and do not identify you by name on their own. Some cookies do hold identifiers that count as personal data under GDPR, which is why consent matters.
2. Your consent
Under the ePrivacy Directive and the Irish ePrivacy Regulations (S.I. 336 of 2011), we may only place non-essential cookies with your prior consent.
- Strictly necessary cookies are set automatically because the site cannot work without them.
- Analytics, functional and marketing cookies are only set after you accept them in our cookie banner.
- Ignoring the banner or continuing to scroll is not consent. Nothing non-essential is loaded until you make a choice.

7. Third-party services

YouTube videos are embedded in privacy-enhanced mode where possible, so no advertising cookies are set until you press play.

Clearing cookies also removes your stored consent, so the banner will appear again on your next visit.

10. What happens if you refuse cookies
Refusing non-essential cookies does not block access to the site. Every page, blog post and contact form stays available. What changes is that we cannot measure how the site is used, remembered preferences reset on each visit, and any ads you see elsewhere will be less relevant rather than absent.
11. Changes to this policy
We audit the cookies on this site regularly and update this page when tags are added or removed. The date at the top shows the current version. If we introduce a new category of non-essential cookie, we will ask for consent again.
